Commander of 115th Infantry Brigade in Lawdar refuses to hand over the brigade to the Southern Transitional Council

The commander of the 115th Infantry Brigade, Brig. Gen. Saif al- Qufaish, in The Lawdar District, northeast of Abyan, rejected the proposal of a negotiating committee set up by the Southern Transitional Council to hand over the brigade building to forces loyal to the UAE-backed council.

The source said that Brigadier General Al- Qufaish refused to hand over the brigade to the Southern Transitional Council in Lawdar peacefully after attempts by the council through tribal and social figures, which may open a new conflict front between forces loyal to the government and forces loyal to the Southern Transitional Council to take control of Lawdar after fighting in the cities of Aden and Abyan led to the control of the Southern Transitional Council, but the fighting continues violently and continues in Shabwa province between the two sides.

The source said that Al- Qufaish rejected the offer of the committee formed by the transitional and pointed out that the council made offers to attract al- Qufaish to his camp and give him a position of military leader, but the latter is still rejecting until now.

The source added that the STC temporarily suspended the work of the negotiating committee with the commander of the 115th Infantry Brigade until the completion of the Battle of Ataq, in which the Southern Council seeks military progress to give it a force in its struggle with the internationally recognized government.
