Abyan. Army launches anti-aircraft weapons on "Emirati" fighter flying in the sky of Shaqra

A military source told Al-Masdar Online that warplanes flew Saturday evening in the skies of the coastal town of Shaqra in the eastern province of Abyan in the south of the country, but units of the government army fired anti-aircraft missiles at them before they left.

The source said that a warplane, believed to be Emirati, flew in the skies of Shaqra and the Orqoub mountain range where government forces are stationed, before army forces stationed at Qarn al-Kalasi opened anti-aircraft weapons towards them.

In late August, government forces withdrew from Al-Alam point at the eastern entrance to Aden to the town of Shaqra, east of Zanzibar, the capital of Abyan province, after an air strike by an Emirati fighter jet targeted a government army force that was preparing to enter the interim capital city of Aden in the south of the country.
