The 74th session of the UN General Assembly began shortly in New York, amid confirmed reports of the absence of Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

A senior Yemeni government source told Al-Masdar Online that President Hadi did not travel to New York and will not participate in the UN General Assembly meetings, which began on Tuesday.

This absence comes against the backdrop of escalating disputes and tensions between the legitimate government and the United Arab Emirates following the latter's support for an armed rebellion in Aden, and the attack of its forces by Yemeni army forces. To participate in the dialogue called by Riyadh to end the crisis in Aden between the legitimacy and the southern transitional backed by the UAE.

The sources added to "Al-Masdar Online" that the pressure has recently increased on the government, in anticipation of the meetings of the Un General Assembly, due to growing fears that President Hadi will announce from the UN rostrum the end of the UAE's participation in the coalition to support legitimacy, and hold it responsible of stand behind the armed rebellion in the interim capital Aden and work to tear Yemen apart.

The Yemeni government has already welcomed Saudi calls for dialogue, which followed the southern transitional takeover of Aden in the middle of last month, but requires the implementation of the latter's statement calling for the withdrawal of transitional militias from the positions and camps they have taken and the return of the government to exercise its functions. from Aden.
