Two soldiers injured in clashes with gunmen who attacked an oil shipment in Marib in the east of the country


Two government soldiers were injured Wednesday in Marib province, in clashes with tribal gunmen who attacked an oil shipment on its way to Shabwa in the east of the country.

A military source told Al-Masdar online that government forces clashed in the area of "Ruwik" northeast of Marib, with tribal gunmen attacking the shipment of oil exported by road from the Fields of Safer.

The source added that the clashes resulted in the injury of two soldiers, while the army forces managed to burn s vehicle of the  group of attackers who escaped in the car of a passer-by on the international line.

The source confirmed that the oil tankers had crossed the Marib border, except for one tanker that had been damaged by the attacking gunmen.

Today, tribal gunmen attacked an oil shipment from Safer fields to Shabwa province for export, and managed to burn down one of the tankers before being engaged by government forces.
