Al-Baydha.. pro-Houthi Director General of al-Zaher directorate killed in bomb blast in provincial center

A tribal sheikh loyal to al-Houthi was killed Wednesday when an explosive device exploded in the central Province of Al- Baydha.

The sources said that Sheikh "Ahmed Abdul-Qawi Al-Humayqani", who is loyal to the Houthis, and appointed director general of the Directorate of Zaher Al- Humayqan, was killed today and two of his companions by an explosive device in the ring road in the city of "Al- Baydha " center of the province.

Two other al- Humayqani escorts were injured in the blast and were seriously injured, the sources said, adding that none of Al-Humayqani body parts were found due to the force of the blast.

While it was not immediately known who was behind the incident, sources said that there were internal liquidations and a struggle for internal command and control between Houthi loyalists in Al- Baydha province, especially the "Al-Reyam" who are strongly present in the "Radaa" and the city of Al- Baydha, the center of the province.

The sheikh's father, Abdul-Qawi al- Humayqani, was also killed in late 2015 in Sanaa by tribal gunmen.

The Houthis have controlled the center of Al-Baydha province and several of its directorates since late 2014 and the first months of 2015, after engaging in fierce battles with tribal militants.
